The program facilitates seamless organization of event floor plans across departments, making diagramming and layout tasks much easier. Not only does it save time by eliminating manual seating chart processes for large events, but it also improves communication with attendees through features such as exporting reports and importing data to CRM systems. By providing professional diagrams and allowing control over room layouts, Cvent Social Tables eliminates the need for outsourcing and offers a more convenient alternative to other programs. It has become a preferred choice for event planners, hotel contacts, third-party planning companies, and vendors alike due to its ability to streamline event planning processes and improve the overall attendee experience.

  2. Integration and compatibility issues: Several reviewers have mentioned difficulties in integrating with other events platforms like EMS and suggested automatic linking of maps to Reservations in booking software. Furthermore, some users have found the software's integration with CVENT's platform to be convoluted.

They also noted occasional lagging of the software, which could be attributed either to their internet connection or the program itself. In addition, there were mentions of freezing or errors occurring while using the software, along with slower response times on mobile devices.

Users commonly recommend the following actions when using Social Tables:

  1. Try out the software for free and upgrade for more features. Users suggest taking advantage of the free trial period to get a feel for the software's capabilities before deciding to upgrade for additional features.

Cvent Event Diagramming is used in our organization to create floorplans and mapping of events. It is an easy tool to assist with seating charts. The program is quite easy to use and understand - essentially a drag and drop system. This is a good product if you are often creating seating charts or room designs.
  • Ease of use
  • Easy to customize
  • Drag and drop
  • Easy to understand for end user
  • Could add some additional design elements
  • Better imaging
  • More realistic options
  • More options
This is a great tool when you are trying to determine a room set up. It can also help with seating charts and just a general layout for your events. If you are not creating custom seating charges, this program may not be as necessary. If you are often designing room layouts with different headcounts and table sizes, this is great.

Cvent Event Diagramming is being used by my organization's Event Services team. As a Corporate Event Planner, it helps me visualize space and plan events accordingly. I am able to work with hotels and venues in real time to collaborate on logistics. Cvent Event Diagramming makes work more efficient and I highly recommend it.
  • Provides wide selection of interactive floor plans
  • Delivers virtual site tours for efficiency and better time management
  • Able to collaborate with hotels and venues in real time
  • More tools or smoother setup to allow for a better transition from the old Cvent to the new Cvent Flex
  • The addition of more tools that allow for better customization
  • The ability to share information with external users
Cvent Event Diagramming is well suited for any type of event planner. This tool is great for planning parties, luncheons, dinners, weddings, corporate events, training seminars, hiring events, etc. I specifically like this software for the corporate events I arrange because we have a lot of various event areas that need to be perfectly situated in order to make the flow of the space work. Cvent Event Diagramming allows me to work with hotels and venues so we can figure out the best use of each space.

I have used Cvent Event Diagramming for clients. We used the diagramming to check layouts, arrange buffet, tables, sponsor booths, etc. to determine it would work. Each item is great to help the event coordinator to check sizing and layouts before the event, and to show our client how things will look during the event. This helps in predicting final costs and producing a budget.
  • Stores plans
  • Showing distance around rooms/layouts
  • Color code items for easy use/identification
  • Ability to create additional custom items
  • Share with external users
Could be used for every type of event set-up from weddings, conferences, full rooms/small rooms, employee meetings, dinners, etc. It helps stay organized and useful for future planners and event samples.

Social tables is being used by my team and the event sales team. We use it to create layouts and floor plans for our events. We use it for specific spaces and venues across our facilities. We love social tables because it is so easy to use and we are able to drop blank floor plans of our space into the design.
  • Upload floor plans
  • Downloads to pdf
  • Good objects (chairs, tables)
  • Easy
  • Auto saves
  • 3D image upgrades
  • More objects
  • Download into different formats besides pdf
This is a great program for anyone who has an event space and needs to create a floor plan. It wouldn’t be suitable if you didn’t have the specs or layout to upload to the software. I recommend having a blank layout you can upload of your space otherwise it is difficult to accurately design a floor plan.

Cvent social tables is being used across multiple departments in our organization for a variety of events. It helps us seamlessly and easily organize our event floor plans across departments/siloed teams. It makes diagramming and layout of event space so easy. This has always been an arduous task with other vendors, but no more!
  • Easy to use
  • Realistic imaging
  • Shows RoI
  • More customizable
  • Not mobile friendly
  • Not as easy for smaller events
Cvent social tables is very well suited for multiple events in the same space or events with similar layouts. The bigger the event, the easier it is to use. The software isn't as well suited for smaller events; there's a lot of setup involved if you are only laying out a handful of booths and it may not be worth it.

Our University Conference Center department uses Social Tables to create floor plan layouts for our meeting and event space. Event Planners and I use the software to develop and share with clients accurate depictions of how an event space can be setup and what it will look like. Social Tables makes the challenge of communicating vision of an event with a client an easy challenge to overcome and thrive through.
  • Great user interface: seamless, aesthetically pleasing, and high functionality design.
  • Well developed features: the developers of the software clearly understand event planning and conference centers, as made evident by the rich inventory of equipment/features to add to floor plans and the tools provided to communicate and track space needs, i.e. easy to use and interpret dimension lines to ensure proper aisle-ways, etc..
  • Strong Event/Floor Plan Database: well thought out interface organizing facility rooms and events.
  • Seamless, simple, quick process for uploading space designs: simply provide a blueprint or CAD file and they can get the space created as a floor plan in no time.
  • Some of the finer features of the new update are limiting, such as the inability to customize standard equipment features, e.g. inability to set a standard podium size.
  • Inability to integrate with other events platforms such as EMS, it would be great if the maps could automatically be linked to Reservations in our booking software.
  • It's hard to think of many areas for improvement, it's a great software!

We use Social tables within our Events Department for all mixers and signature events. Primarily, this is how we check in attendees to measure our overall engagement. We then export the report and import the data to our CRM so our sales team can follow up with attendees. We also use Social Tables when creating diagrams with our venues, and assigning seating arrangements.
  • User-friendly. It's easy for us to train other team members/staff/volunteers to use the front-end system for registration and event check-in.
  • Social Tables is great for creating custom room layouts and diagrams.
  • Social tables is customizable. We're able to capture specific information for attendees, and can "tag" them when additional info is needed.
  • I'd love to see more filtering capabilities when searching through registrants.
  • It would be nice if Social tables could be integrated to work directly with Salesforce, our CRM so we wouldn't have to import/export our reporting.
  • I'd love for Social Tables to directly integrate with OnArrival. (Maybe it does and we just haven't figured that out yet?)
We use Social Tables for all networking events as a way to track attendance. While some events are simpler and require less customization, there is still value in keeping check-in digital (especially in the eco-conscious and safety-focused time we live in!). The platform is especially important for signature events with table assignments/meal specifications/VIP attendees, etc.

We use Cvent Social Tables for our tradeshows, banquets and break-out sessions. It provides accurate dimensions and helps us and our clients to understand what will be the best fit in each of our meeting spaces.
  • Easy to Use
  • Accurate Dimensions and Spacing
  • Cvent integration
  • Freezes occasionally
Great for planning simple banquets and breakouts. I would like to see more options for tradeshows set ups.

Since we switched to Cvent Social Tables, creating diagrams for my events has been a breeze. I find it to be quite user-friendly but if I ever have any issues, I enjoy that I can jump on a live chat with the support team and get any issues resolved quickly. The universal search feature and favorites option is a real time saver. Best of all, I enjoy that I am able to add my clients as collaborators so that they can make and changes themselves. For those less tech savvy clients, I find I can send a link to my client for them to view my actions in real time while I have them on the phone. I give it an A++!
  • Universal Search
  • Live Chat
  • Improving service perimeter so that we can export multiple diagrams as one document rather than as individual PDFs. Currently because of the service perimeter settings, when we try to utilize the 'Export All' function, each diagram prints extremely small on the page.
  • I would like to be able to save specific colors as favorites. I tend to color code the items on a diagram (all AV in orange, all F&B in light blue, all items clients are providing in yellow, etc.). Currently, if I want to use a specific shade of a color, I have to select a currently shaded item and copy/paste the color code. Makes for extra steps in an otherwise quick process.
Other than the features previously mentioned, I find Social Tables well suited for any scenario where I am planning any event.

Currently, a small base of users for testing to see how we can optimize floor plans, set up configurations for our Innovation Center as well as off-property events. We have custom diagrams Cvent Social Tables imported for us so they are exact specs for our facility. It gives professional vs. homemade diagrams as well as puts the control on your hands vs. outsourcing to an audiovisual company. Then there’s the seating diagrams that help place people at specific tables.
  • Pre-loaded venue diagrams with measurements to save time
  • Pretty intuitive
  • More seamless integration into Cvent’s platform
  • Easier venue and room finder
Suited well for most venues, and can be tailored to your own facility by importing cad drawings/specs. Since its new acquisition by Cvent there will be other seamless integration features. Training is essential to get the full opportunity out of social tables. After a while, you’ll get templates established and be able to design diagrams at a quicker pace.

Social Tables is used in one department at my organization. It is used to accurately create floor plans and review spaces for various meetings and events. It's much easier than trying to create your own diagram in word or another program.
  • Ease of use
  • Quality of product
  • Missing functionality
  • Sometimes have errors while using
It works for several venues that you have a template for, as you have the size of the rooms, tables, etc., but isn't always useful for random venues or locations. For using for a miscellaneous venue, it's not always the quickest or easiest solution. It can be easier to just draw out a layout.

I have used Cvent Social Tables at school, currently working towards an Associates Degree in Event Management. I've recommended it to other students too! The floor plan feature is fantastic. I've used it for final projects. I also enjoy the blog about trends and best practices. Always a good reminder and finding something new.
  • Floor plan feature
  • Blog
  • Larger floor plan symbols
The venue sourcing is user-friendly and quick to find floor plans for the facilities. Much faster than searching for the hotel and finding plans online via their own website. The symbols on the diagrams/floor plan feature come out rather small (even when selecting the largest view).

As a third-party event planning company, we use Cvent Social Tables to put together floor plans for our clients. It enables us to create layouts and often be able to use venue formats already in Social Tables. Once you put information into a floor plan, Cvent Social Tables allows you to export helpful information like how many tables you've included in your floor plan, chairs, etc.
  • Allows you to easily create floor plans
  • Allows you to upload floor plans from venues all over the world
  • Could add in more venues
  • Could partner with more rental companies to implement more inventory options
Cvent Social Tables is perfect for event planners to layout floor plans for events. It is a great tool to layout event spaces, especially for things like receptions and exhibits. Cvent Social Tables isn't applicable in cases where you are wanting to create custom set designs. For that, you would need to use a more intricate program like Vectorworks.

Social Tables is utilized to share event diagrams with all departments involved in event execution. This ensures my client and team know exactly what's happening!
  • Ability to share and work at the same time as your client on a diagram.
  • Spacing, to see what type of space is required between items.
  • 3D does not always work on very large diagrams
  • Items on diagrams like to line up perfectly. If you need something in between spaces sometimes it's difficult to get it there.
Social Tables is a great asset to an event manager's role. This allows me to get on the phone with a client or planner and work through items via phone but while both being able to edit and work on the diagram all at once.

We are using it to create diagrams throughout all phases of our event life cycle - sales, planning and execution. We even utilize it for planning for future events. After an event has been executed and we feel things should have been done differently, we will duplicate the diagram, and update it accordingly to what we feel will work better.
  • Great communication tool to clients and operations teams
  • 3D component is fantastic
  • Fewer steps to set a diagram would be great
  • Better mobile capabilities
Social Tables is great for complex events with many moving parts. I particularly enjoy adding my clients as a collaborator so they can provide input as needed and see the diagram take shape in real-time. This direct line of communication allows for minimal surprises on-site, if any, and the clients are even more satisfied with their events. Social Table is not appropriate for small meetings.

We use Social Tables for two reasons. The first and most important is to seat people for our larger events. It is easy to use and allows us to report out information both alphabetically and by the table. We also use Social Tables to check people in. One of the registration systems we use does not have a user-friendly check-in system, so before the event, we will then import the list into Social Tables and use the app to check folks in at the event. It allows us to export that information after the event to see who actually attended. We also like that people who don't have a license for Social Tables can be invited to edit seating.
  • The check-in feature on the app is wonderful. It allows you to see multiple fields of information, sort by different fields and is incredibly easy to teach someone how to use when you are asking volunteers with no Social Tables experience to help with check-in.
  • Being able to create your own floor plans is really useful. We use a lot of venues that are not already in social tables, so if you know the dimensions of the room it is easy to put in and scale the room. They also uploaded all our commonly used floor plans from the university and that was also extremely helpful.
  • Being able to duplicate events for spaces we use frequently is a huge time saver.
  • It is very easy to seat people and being able to pair or group them makes it even easier.
  • We haven't used the new upgraded version of Social Tables much, so this review may not be as accurate because we are still very used to the old system. Any time you switch functionality there is a learning curve and we are experiencing that now.
  • To be honest, I don't often say I wish on Social Tables, it can usually be done. The support is very helpful, especially the chat feature.
  • I would say adding more venues is always useful for creating more robust floor plans.
Social Tables is helpful for any event where there is a check in process that your current registration system does not support. We have several events in Social Tables that have no layouts because we just use them for check in because we find the app so useful. It is also wonderful for large events that have hard seating as it gives you a view of the room so you to seat people. The diagrams also help to show your constituents a visual representation of what you are thinking and can help them buy into your overall plan.

We utilize Social Tables on-site at your building, which is used frequently to host meetings with different, unique room designs and set-ups. In addition, we host many off-site meetings in convention centers, hotels, special event venues, etc. and Social Tables allows us to provide our requirements visually and share the details with stakeholders. So far, I enjoy using the software because it has many time-saving features, such as Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy and paste the same icons/objects. I enjoy the PDF booklet feature, that allows me to share all of my floor plans in one file. I would not consider myself a "super user", but will continue to learn the capabilities of the software.
  • Seating charts
  • Floor plans
  • Time savings and no paper use
  • Entering text on floor plans for specific notes is limited to one type of text. It would be nice to have additional fonts to highlight/differentiate.
  • Need for additional objects, like double-sided poster boards.
  • More venues and hotels need to upload their floor plans.
Social Tables is suited best for floor plans and room design. A great feature is that the software allows you to create and save room templates, so if you have recurring meetings with the same room set, you can take the template and be done with your floor plan in a few minutes. You can modify the number of seats at tables, rounds, squares, etc., so it's great for assigned seating and numbers.

Our organization currently uses Social Tables primarily for the Awards Gala that takes place at our annual National Conference event. It is solely used within our event team within the Marketing Department. It allows us to eliminate the very manual process of assigning all (nearly 600) attendees seats for the evening. It also provides valuable reporting and exporting features allowing us quick access to the information on-site.
  • User Interface: Very user-friendly and easy to navigate.
  • Integration/exporting: Allows you to connect with your existing registration as well as export information into your needed format.
  • Data Tags - you can apply data tags that can be used to communicate important details to vendors such as dietary restrictions, meal selection, etc.
  • Stacking Data/Diagrams: Grouping diagrams together into one event would be helpful, or being able to create a couple different versions within the same event/diagram.
  • Diagram Library: Continue to add to the library of diagrams they have stored from venues.
Social Tables offers a great, user-friendly interface to solve many diagram/seating problems that are considered low-hanging fruit. If there are few levels of complexity to the diagram need, Social Tables is well suited. If there are many levels of complexity and data integration, it can get a bit tricky. However, working with their support team there is almost always a solution.

Social Tables is used in our organization for creating an event setup diagram and for the operational team to prepare the event according to the client's requests. It is also being used to determine possible setups for the particular locations.
  • Cloud platform provides peace of mind for any IT Administrators that support Social Tables at their organization.
  • Reliable application, never lost a diagram (accidentally deleted) created by users.
  • Customers service is quick and helpful.
  • The new platform is still buggy, but performance is slightly improving day by day.
  • Should announce new upgrades to customers
  • Needs to have global features
One of the best products for event diagraming in the market.
